Facing an achievement in front of Eibar
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, gave hints that he could leave the Catalan club after the end of the current season.
Barcelona will play Eibar tomorrow, Saturday, in the final round of the Spanish League, which may be the last time Coman appears on the team bench.
This comes due to the surrounding speculation about his future, after losing the La Liga title due to deteriorating results in recent weeks.
"I do not know my fate yet because I did not speak with the president. We will talk after tomorrow's match. I want to continue and fulfill my contract," Koeman said at the press conference to meet Eibar.
He added: "There are things that must change and other things that we have already changed. I spoke with Ramos Blanes and Matteo Alemani about the plans for next season, but the final word remains for the president." He continued, "Last month, the coach and the players should have been respected more. I understand that the players were clearly affected because some things went out to the press and they do not deserve this treatment."
As for the management's respect for him: "In the final part of the season no, because I have a contract, we had to talk about the future. I understand that there are doubts about the recent results, but I always showed my face at every press conference and was the only spokesperson for the club."
And about the possibility of his departure: "We love Barcelona and I am very happy to come to this club and I do not regret coming back, but in the end the president is the one who determines the direction in which the club is going, I do not know what will happen yet."
Barcelona lost 11 games with him: "Yes, I certainly bear responsibility because of the changes we have made. It gave us the opportunity to many players. I do not think that I am the best coach for this club, but of course I see myself capable of leading this team."
Messi's fate: "He once again proved his quality this season as a person and as a professional. I hope he stays with us for many years, because Barcelona with Messi has a better future than Barcelona without Messi."
And about his absence against Eibar: "Messi, de Jong and Pedri played a lot of minutes. De Jong really got a rest, and Messi has the Copa America so he needed to rest, and the same thing is for Pedri, who we hope will go to the Euro. We are always trying to protect our players."
It is worth noting that Barcelona, which has completely eliminated La Liga, has recently been associated with the appointment of Bayern Munich coach Hans Flick as a substitute for Koman.
